Elizabeth Taylor, was a star during Hollywood’s golden age. Starring in major productions such as Cleopatra, she was truly an inspiration to anyone who saw her films. She had a genetic “defect” which made her deep blue eyes appear violet. Despite her obvious talent and beauty, she was also a humanitarian. She was one of the first celebrities to bring attention to HIV/AIDS in the 80s, raising more than $270 million for the cause. Crazy, huh? Even more so, she was featured on Time magazine. They referred to her as “a jewel of great price, a true sapphire”.
