My father was such a doll and bought me the Venus Palette from Lime Crime (which I’ve been wanting forever). I already have two of their Zodiac Glitters in Gemini and Scorpio and I have heard many amazing things about the rest of their products. On Lime Crime’s website ( LimeCrime.com ), this palette is described as the “grunge palette”. It is made up of warm shades that are perfect for this Thanksgiving season. Without further babbling, here is my review that you are so eager to read.

Let’s talk packaging. First off, if you have never ordered form Lime Crime, you’ll notice that the box the merchandise is shipped in is super cute. It is floral patterned on the inside and the stuff is wrapped in tissue paper. Everything is secure and arrived without a scratch. The palette has a beautiful graphic in front that resembles the goddess Venus with a beautiful sunset in the background which sort of reflect the colors inside. The palette is made out of very sturdy cardboard so that the eyeshadows are kept safe. It even has a nice mirror inside!

Speaking of the eyeshadows, they come in very decent-sized pans (about 1in x 1in). There are 8 total in the pan. They are called (left, to right, starting from the top row) Venus, Shell, Aura, Creation, Icon, Rebirth, Divine, and Muse. They are all pictured in the pictures above (right with flash, the left without flash) I will go into more detail about them in the next section.

I swatched all of the colors in the palette on my arm. The right was taken without flash and the left was taken with flash. Disclaimer: these are HIGHLY pigmented with just a little product. I didn’t even use primer for any of them. I will describe each color going from the top color on my arm to the bottom.

Muse: This is a very deep and beautiful maroon. It is the only matte in this palette. It is a classic grunge color and I think it would compliment any eye color beautifully.

Divine: As it is the lighter of the two browns in this palette, it resembles milk chocolate. It has a very slight sparkle (the flecks are very sparse). It is also has one of the smoothest applications in the palette.

Rebirth: Another silky shade. It is a very pink coral color. It has a satin sparkle to it, shining a nice pink in the light.

Icon: This color resembles expresso before you add any milk or cream. It is like Divine in the sense that it has a slight sparkle. This color is highly pigmented. This was probably the chalkiest of the shades in terms of texture, but still applied nicely.

Creation: This is the burnt orange/brown we expect fall leaves to have. It also has a very slight shimmer.

Aura: It is the lightest color in the palette having a gold-colored champagne color. It is one of too shimmery shades. I could see myself using this as a highlight on my brow bone or even on my cheek bones!

Shell: The other shimmer in the palette, only that this has more of a peachy-gold color. This is probably the smoothest of all the shadows. It feels like butter going onto the skin, almost like a cream (but not, of course).

Venus: This color is the product of Creation and Shell having a baby. It is a very warm-toned brick color with a satin sparkle. This is a lovely color.

I got this palette for $19 when it was on sale, but normally it is $32 (don’t’ quote me). I think it is reasonable for the quality you get. I would link their website, but my browser is not working for some reason. Here is their website off the top of my head, though: LimeCrime.com

I am very excited to use this palette to create a look tomorrow morning. I’ll create a part 2 to this post on how well the shadows applied to the lid along with pictures and a detailed explanation of the look.

Comment below if you have any other suggestions of what you’d like to see, what you liked about this post, etc. If you liked this post, make sure you share!

Thanks for reading!
