I think this is a perfect look for any special occasion: prom makeup, birthday party makeup, holiday party makeup, etc. Especially with New Year’s Eve among us, I thought this was a good time to post this look in case you were having trouble finding a look for tonight or tomorrow’s party. Let’s ring in 2016 with a bash…

Eyes
I started with the eyes for this look because the shadows I used tended to have a lot of fallout and I didn’t want that messing up my face makeup later on. I suggest you do this with any eye makeup look heavily dependent on eyeshadow that is dark, glittery, or bright. I first started with a primed eye. Then, I applied Strange (a nude) all over as a base since it’ll make blending easier later on. Next, I used Nooner and blended it into the crease as a transition color. I decided I wanted this look to be more dramatic and sparkly (but, you can skip this step if you just want to go for the graphic cat eye look) so I used Blackheart to deepen the crease and lower lash line, Factory on the outer third of my eye, and Buzz on the other 2 thirds. Make sure you blend it well for a seamless look.
For the eyeliner, I suggest you take a look at my Beauty and Makeup Tips article to check out how I do my cat eye (winged) liner. The only difference between that and this look is that I also extended the inner corner of my eye to make a very feline-esque shape. Line your water line to have a clean look.
I do my eyebrows before my mascara so I don’t accidentally poke my eye and get that hot mess we all know and hate. My How to Get Nice Eyebrows article illustrates this whole step if you are not familiar with defining your brows.
Finally, I curled my lashes and applied mascara. I chose to bring the whole eye together by applying false lashes, as well.
Face
Begin with your primer if you don’t have the same foundation as me, which combines primer and foundation into one step. Since this is a special occasion look, you’ll want to go for full coverage for a flawless face. I do this by using concealer first; for this look I used Revlon Colorstay, but I recently got Benefit’s Boing concealer and it is fantastic! If you would like a review on this, let me know in the comments. Small tip: don’t ever swipe or run concealer or foundation into skin; always use patting motions with your finger, sponge, or brush. This leaves a smooth, not patchy, finish. After I have all of my imperfections covered up, I start applying my foundation. I then blend all of this with a beauty blender dampened with setting mist.
Next, I continue with contour. Since I used cream instead of my usual powder, I contoured before my setting powder this time. Once I had all of the cream laid down, I used a small beauty blender to blend it out. This is when I powdered my face to set all of the creamy stuff. Lastly, I applied a bit of blush, finishing with a highlighting liquid on the highest points of my cheek, forehead, nose, cupid’s bow, and chin.

I simply swiped Captive by Mac on my lips, being sure to be precise around my cupids bow. You can clean up with a concealer if you want.
So, hopefully you have a look for all of that partying of Netflix’ing you’ll be up to the next few days. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, let me know in the comments.
Happy New Year and I hope it brings you endless joy, love, and peace.
Stay gorgeous!
