Everyone has relationship issues with makeup. Even Nicki Minaj has some cake-face days (plus that harsh nose contour). Life happens. You have an idea in your head and when you are up and getting ready it just looks… no. It still happens to me either because I am lazy or because I still have no idea how to fix it. I feel like I am always giving advice on here, so why not dig up the not-so perfect me and show it to all of you guys? Maybe you can all relate to these.
- Problem Skin= FOUNDATION NIGHTMARE!
Seriously, I have the worst skin ever. Okay, maybe not the absolute worst ever, but it’s pretty bad. I have always had oily skin to the point where I had black heads and white heads before 3rd grade (no joke). I have tried everything and nothing works to clean my pores. Of course, it got worse as I hit middle school when my forehead, chin, back, shoulders, and outer cheeks started bursting in acne-galore (and they normally hurt like a son of a, you know). I wash my face a maximum of twice a day and I use good stuff and I always moisturize. I have almost given up.
How does this effect my makeup? Well, my foundation never really looks smooth due to all of the acne scarring, blackheads, white heads, and pimples. After about 4 hours of wear my face looks like an oil slick, no matter what. The powder I use now (Tarte’s Amazon Clay Powder) is probably the best I have used for mattifying and setting my foundation, but my makeup still won’t last throughout my busy school day. I have tried almost all of the foundations out there and, again, the one I use now works the best. I have also tried all methods of application. A sponge/beauty blender works best, but it does not impact the staying power of my base. Sigh.
2. Brushes that WILL NOT CLEAN

I have this issue where no matter how much I wash my brushes, they will not clean. I will wash them with soap and warm-to-hot water and do my best to get to the middle of the bristles and they’ll seem clean, but once they dry, they are still oily and obviously not clean. I know I’m supposed to clean my brushes often due to sanitary reasons, so it bothers me. I’m sure this also impacts how my makeup applies.
3. Fake Lashes Normally Do Not Work…
I think we all know this feeling. We see the lashes in the pack and think Oh, how lovely. We put them on with perfectly tacky glue but… what are those birds on my lashes???

Quick review: I recently have been trying false lashes by Kiss because of their nice price. I have not liked any of the ones that I have tried thus far. I have tried the iEnvy individual lashes, Juicy Volume Mulitpack (no. 2), Ever EZ Trio Lashes (short and medium), and So Whispy 02 (have not tried). So, what is the problem, you ask? All of the lashes I have tried from this brand are adhered to their packaging so much that when I tried to peel the lashes off, they snapped. Talk about a waste of money. Also, they tend to be so tightly packed together that they give that “blocky” look on your eyes, as seen on our girl, Snooki, above. They just simply are not good quality, in my opinion.

The only lashes that have worked for me are e.l.f.’s false lash kits (though their glue is not good at all), everything Ardell, and eyeluv.me lashes.
4. Money (Lack Thereof)
As most of you know from my About Me page, I am 17 years old. I am still in high school and the only time I can get money is on holidays or if I get a job. I used to be a drugstore lover, but since I have discovered Sephora, I just can’t go back. This means I want money that I can’t have, which stinks. I’ll spend my free time window shopping online and sighing at the things I can’t buy.
For those of you who have this same issue: think about it this way, at least you don’t have the money to buy on impulse and you’ll have plenty of time to research the stuff you buy.
5. Getting All the Things
*walks into Sephora* Ooooh look a sale! Ooooh look this is pink, but this one is magenta with shimmer in it; which one do I buy?! *walks out with entire store* Oh, look at that top!
Need I say more?
Thanks for reading, y’all! Let me know in the comments if you can relate (story time anyone?) to these problems. Seriously, I’d love to hear about it.
