I know the talk of my past few posts have mostly been of liquid lipstick, but that is only because I love them so much. What’s not to like? They give a lipstick look without the commitment of touch-ups. I have been growing my collection of these babies, so I’d like to share them with you and what I think of all of them.
The following reviews are based off of my experience with these products and the following swatches (going from left to right).

Nyx Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania
Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.Nyx is a great brand… they are Cruelty-Free and have great quality products. Unfortunately, I have not had a good experience with these lipsticks. I had these in Transylvania and Milan, but neither were very opaque. They apply very patchy and take a long time to dry. Even with a lip liner underneath, they are patchy. They are not drying, which is a plus. They also smell like cupcakes. For around $6, they are not worth it, in my opinion. I’d save my money to buy a better quality liquid lipstick that has better pigmentation.

If you want to try one out and let me know your thoughts, you can purchase them here-> amazon.com/nyxmattelipcreams
Also, if you have these, let me know if they work for you and how you make them work. I see so many swatches that show opaque and even application, but I could never achieve this with this product.
LA Splash Smitten Lip Tint: Nagini
Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view. I have already spoken about the LA Splash liquid lipstick line in my Lime Crime Cashmere Dupe article. If you read that, you’d know that I love these lipsticks, besides a few cons. They are super opaque with a mousse texture. They stay on if you don’t rub or smack your lips together or eat oily foods. Cons: they smell a bit like paint, can ball up if you put them on too thick or touch up over what is already there, and they are pretty drying. All of these issues can be avoided so long as you apply them correctly. So they don’t ball up, try to apply one good layer while it is wet and try to get the coverage as opaque as you’d like. You can touch up the edges of your lips later. Also, when you are touching up (if you need to), try to only go over the bare parts and not what is already there. As for the drying part, I apply lip balm in the beginning of my makeup routine and wipe off the excess before applying the liquid lipstick. The shade I am wearing in this picture is Nagini, which is a deep ivy green. I used to have OG Ghoulish, but I lost it.

OCC Lip Tars: Zhora & John Doe
These next liquid lipsticks are not really true liquid lipsticks. They do not dry down completely matte. Though, I am including them because I find that they are often portrayed as such. FYI, OCC Lip Tars are more like highly pigmented lip glosses. They will feather when worn alone, so they need a lip liner. I typically wear them in the center of my lips paired with a liquid lipstick.

John Doe is a matte color. It is sort of like a grayish taupe.

Zhora is an electric peach with a hint of orangey-gold glitter. It is really a lovely color.
Overall, I love the Lip Tars, even though they are not the typical liquid lipstick. They are super moisturizing, since they are made with things like hemp oil and they smell a bit like pepper mint.

Notoriously Morbid: Mystic Matte Liquid Lipsticks: Tarot
Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view. I love Notoriously Morbid Cosmetics. They have great quality stuff and it is all super unique. It is perfect for girls who like to step out of the box. I got this liquid lipstick from their Mystic Matte collection. Tarot is a greige-purple. I talked about my love for this extensively on my Lime Crime Cashmere Dupe article. It is a lovely liquid lipstick– not super drying and highly pigmented. I also love the applicator, which is larger and more flat than your typical doe-foot applicator. I allows for much cleaner lines and smooth application.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks: Lolita & Witches
I have always loved Kat Von D and her brand. She always seems to put time and effort in her cosmetics. This is also one of those companies that makes their stuff for people who like to step out of the box with their makeup. This also goes for her Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. Again, they are super pigmented and do not dry out the lips. My only complaint is that they tend to rub off or fade easier than the others I have spoken about, but I still love them nonetheless. I have shades Lolita and Witches and I plan on buying more.

So, hopefully this post and these swatches were helpful on your journey to find the perfect liquid lipstick for you. I don’t know about you, but I love them so so so much because of the one application you need to have nice lipstick all day (minus eating sandwiches or oily foods).
I am thinking about doing a Wet n’ Wild haul or a favorite brushes post. Let me know what you’d like to see.
Stay gorgeous xx
