Lime Crime has become and increasingly popular indie makeup brand, especially on Instagram. They are probably best known for their Velvetines, which are liquid lipsticks and they come in a huge array of colors. As far as I heard, these are great quality as far as opacity and staying power goes. Respective to their quality, they tend to fetch at a high price ($18 or $20, I believe) for some people. The most coveted Velvetine from Lime Crime is probably Cashmere. I know I have been after this color for forever. I wasn’t able to afford the higher price, so I have been searching for good and cheap dupes for the Velvetines.
LA Splash: Lip Couture in OG Ghoulish
LA Splash has a complete line of beautiful liquid lipsticks that stay all day and carry full opacity. They carry many colors that will live up to everyone’s forte. I have owned a couple, myself, including this shade. I did not use my own picture of OG Ghoulish because I lost it way back, but I have owned it. This color is a very small tad more beige than Cashmere, but it is not a very noticeable difference. I have never owned a Lime Crime Velvetine (sadly), but I will say a downside to LA Splash’s liquid lipstick is that they are VERY drying, but once dry, they only fade a bit on the inside of the lips. You literally need to rub straight oil or vaseline on your lips to get these off. I will also say they tend to ball up a little when you layer after the first layer is completely dry. My last con is they smell like paint, oddly. None of these points would keep me from purchasing, though. They are of good quality and worth the money.

Notoriously Morbid Cosmetics: Mystic Matte Liquid Lipsticks in Tarot
Tarot is one of my favorite liquid lipsticks in my collection. I also love this company. I’d been searching for a fairly priced and good indie makeup brand and I found it! It is right up my alley with their uniquely names eyeshadows and lipsticks. I’d talked about wanting this in my Winter Wishlist. I finally buckled down and bought it. I was not disappointed. This lipstick has great staying power and pigmentation. I have no complaints at all.

So, hopefully this was helpful to those of you searching for a cheaper, but still quality option to get the same look as Lime Crime’s Cashmere. This is a lovely shade, perfect for any time or look, so I think everyone should have it.
