If you have been following this website since its launch, you’ve probably figured out that I love bold looks. Thanksgiving was no different. For my Thanksgiving makeup look, I went for a grungy smoke using my Venus eyeshadow. You can check out my review on this palette here. Though, I added my own funky twist by using gray lipstick and a graphic cat eye. Stay tuned to see the details!

I applied my foundation a bit heavier than normal since it was a holiday and I wanted to look especially flawless. First, I primed my eyelids with Nyx’s Jumbo Pencil in Milk. Then I applied concealer under my eyes, on pimples, spots, and redness and blended it out with my beauty blender. Then I used the same beauty blender to apply my foundation, focusing on the spots I covered early so they were absolutely invisible. After that, I powdered my face all over, since I get very oily. I contoured with Naked 2 from the Naked Basics palette on the hollows of my cheeks, jawline, temples, and forehead. Then I applied a bushy-bronzer on the apples of my cheeks. Lastly, I applied highlighted on the highest points of my cheeks, forehead, bridge of my nose, cupid’s bow, and chin.

I feel there is no educational value in re-explainin eyebrows, so you can read my Get Nice Eyebrows article, if you want the eyebrows I am sporting here. If not, you can do whatever you normally do on your eyebrows.
That being said, I’ll explain what I did as far as the rest of the eyes go. First, I packed on Muse, a deep red half-way up my lid starting at the lash line, using a shading brush. Then, I also packed on Venus above where I’d placed Muse ending just above the crease. Side note: Don’t forget to also repeat these steps on the bottom below your lash line (in a smaller scale). Since this is a grungy smoke, make sure everything is laid in a circular manner around the eyes, instead of matching your eye shape like a normal smokey eye. At the very top of my color layers, without going on the brow bone, I shaded the outer edge with Rebirth and Shell. Then, blend, blend, blend to have a more gradient look. To finish off the shadow, I packed Aura on the brow bone.
My review on this palette -> Lime Crime’s Venus Palette
The most complicated part of this look is the graphic cat eye. To start off, I lined my lower waterline with Nyx’s Jumbo Pencil in Milk. Then, I created a small flick (cat eye) with their white liquid liner. On top of the white, I made a black line using my gel liner extending a bit farther out, as well as finishing off the eye all of the way into the inner corner. Lastly, I extended a thin line underneath the white line to completely outline the white, so to speak.
If you want to just stick with a regular cat eye, I go over it in this post here.
Then I finished off the eyes by curling my lashes, applying mascara, and then placing my false lashes.
I began by outlining my lips in black and shading about a third in on each side of the lid with the black. Then I swiped on the gray lipstick as usual.
I also wrote a review about these lipsticks -> Cheap Lipsticks
*P.S. They’re like $2.99
That completes the look. I hope this came to some inspiration for you and that it helped you in some way. Leave your feedback in the comments!
I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving!
